Mumbai: He had been battling prolonged illness for a long time and finally had to bow down in front it. Superstar Rajesh Khanna passed away on Wednesday afternoon at his residence Aashirwad in Mumbai. He was 70.
The actor’s condition had been deteriorating since April when stopped eating and had complained of weakness. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital twice in the past month.
He is survived by his wife, actress Dimple Kapadia and two daughters, Twinkle and Rinkie.

A highly placed source spoke to Dailybhaskar.com before Kaka's death and said, "Kaka is not responding to medicines, he is on drips as there is no intake of food and is lying lifeless on his bed. He was grasping for breath since morning."The source further added by saying that the actor was on an artificial respirator. Also, his family was present with him and his doctor and physician were also next to him. Reportedly, all his family members had gathered at his Bandra house and the house had been cordoned off by police officials. Also apparently, his son-in-law Akshay Kumar returned from one of his shoots abroad in wake of father-in-law's deteriorating health.
